The use of fabrics in the industry not only in clothing

However, this is not the only area in which the material plays a major role. What other industries use fabrics?

Decorative and clothing fabrics

Clothing fabrics, as the name suggests, must be adapted to everyday contact with the human body. Even if it is not a direct contact (as in the case of outerwear), the fabric must allow for free movement and adequate air circulation.

The main feature of decorative fabrics is increased durability and resistance to damage. They are often subjected to heavy exploitation or exposure to sunlight, which is why the dyes or prints used for their production must be distinguished by exceptional durability.

What are decorative fabrics used for?

Decorative fabrics are a very important element of interior design. They create the character of the rooms and their individual style. Moreover, they determine the durability and functionality of the manufactured items. Although at first glance, decorative fabrics are to meet the latest trends and aesthetic preferences of buyers, their intended use is determined by the composition and technical features. For this reason, there are several types of decorative fabrics.

  • Curtain and curtain. One of the most important parameters of this type of fabrics is their grammage and structure. The grammage determines not only the weight of the material, but also affects how much light it will transmit. Although in the case of curtains a dense weave and large blackout are desirable features, curtains should allow sunlight to pass through as much as possible, while providing privacy for the household. When choosing such fabrics, remember that they should be adapted to the curtain rod - it should not be overloaded.
  • You can indulge a bit more with the choice of fabrics for bedspreads and blankets. These, after all, can be a bit heavier and more varied. Fabrics with interesting and pleasant structures are gaining more and more popularity in this group - both those with long hair and lighter cotton with a waffle structure.
  • Upholstery fabrics are a great way to create unconventional furniture. Their main advantages are the variety and durability of both the patterns applied to them and the material itself. Importantly, good-quality upholstery fabric can be easily cleaned.
  • Textiles with thematic patterns are eagerly used for the production of occasional gadgets and gifts, as well as everyday items: from decorative table runners, through pillows, to stylish shopping bags or holiday screens.

Although fabrics are so common that we usually do not even notice them, it is difficult to imagine their absence in everyday life. There are only a few examples of their use, but they are present in almost every field of industry: from interior design, through leisure accessories, to toys for children and animal equipment.
